Water Damage Resources

Understand the steps between discovering a leak and completing repairs. These guides help you organize information and discuss the next step with HTX Elite Build.

Water Damage Resources

Protect people first

Avoid standing water where electrical equipment may be energized. Stay out of unsafe rooms and follow emergency officials’ instructions. Stop the water source only when it is safe to do so.

Record what happened

Note when the leak began, the rooms affected and any steps already taken. Photograph accessible damage without disturbing unsafe materials. Keep repair records and insurer instructions together.

Connect drying to repairs

A surface can look dry while moisture remains in a wall or floor. Discuss assessment, affected materials, monitoring and the conditions needed before rebuilding. New paint or flooring should not conceal an unresolved moisture problem.
