Universal precautions is an infection-control approach that treats human blood and specified potentially infectious materials as potentially infectious, rather than relying on appearance or known history.
What this means at your property
In relevant cleanup work, the approach informs worker protections and handling practices. It does not mean that gloves alone make an untrained person prepared to clean an affected room.
What should a property owner arrange?
Keep others away from the affected area and contact an appropriately qualified provider. Ask about the work boundary, material handling and completion documentation. A scene’s release by authorities and the later cleanup assessment are separate steps.
