Nylon is a family of synthetic polymers used in products including carpet fibers. Fiber type is one part of identifying how a textile should be treated.
What this means at your property
A carpet’s backing, cushion, dyes and installation can respond differently from its face fibers after a spill or leak. Knowing that the carpet contains nylon does not establish whether the complete assembly can remain.
What information helps a carpet assessment?
Provide care labels, product records and the source and duration of wetting if known. Ask the proposal to address the backing, cushion and floor beneath, as well as any test cleaning and replacement decisions.
