Spores are reproductive or survival structures produced by certain organisms. In a mold discussion, the term commonly refers to fungal spores.

What this means at your property

Their presence in a sample needs interpretation in context. A count alone does not explain a leak history, identify every hidden affected area or establish a person’s health condition. Visible growth and moisture findings should not be displaced by an isolated number.

What should a sampling report explain?

Ask why sampling was performed, where and when samples were collected and what the method can establish. Connect the interpretation to a defined property question and the proposed response to moisture or affected materials.
