Evaporation is the change of a liquid into vapor. During property drying, it moves water from wet surfaces and materials into the surrounding air.

What this means at your property

A wet floor can appear to improve while moisture accumulates in a closed room. Airflow may encourage evaporation, but the released vapor also needs to be managed. This is why extraction, airflow and humidity control are separate parts of a drying plan.

Does a dry surface mean the whole assembly is dry?

No. Moisture can remain beneath flooring or inside a wall. Ask which layers were checked and what observations or readings support installing replacement finishes.
