A dehumidifier removes water vapor from air. Refrigerant units collect condensation, while desiccant equipment uses moisture-attracting material as part of its process.
What this means at your property
After extraction, a dehumidifier may help maintain conditions that allow wet building materials to continue drying. Equipment selection depends on the space and conditions; a household unit and a restoration unit should not be assumed to provide the same capacity.
When can it be switched off?
Follow the agreed drying plan and ask the team to explain the measurements supporting removal. An empty tank, a comfortable room or a quiet machine does not establish that the underlying materials have met the drying criteria.
