AI-generated illustration showing settled dust collecting on an interior window ledge.

Ledges are projecting edges or narrow horizontal surfaces, such as window ledges, trim tops and architectural shelves.

What this means at your property

Dust and fire residue can settle on high ledges that are easy to miss during a floor-level walkthrough. A ledge may also conceal a joint or finish transition affected by moisture. Its location and surface material influence access and cleaning decisions.

How should ledges appear in a cleaning scope?

Identify the rooms, elevations and surfaces included, along with access arrangements. Ask whether items need moving and how the finish will be protected. Do not climb unstable furniture to inspect or clean an elevated area.
