An airlock is a controlled transition space between separated areas. In restoration, it can help manage movement into and out of a contained work zone.
What this means at your property
A temporary enclosure may include an entry compartment so that opening one doorway does not directly expose the whole work area to adjacent rooms. Its usefulness depends on the design and how people actually use it; plastic sheeting alone is not proof of effective containment.
What should occupants know before work starts?
Ask which entrance is available, who may use it and where deliveries or belongings should pass. Changes to the access route should be agreed with the person responsible for containment.
